Slowing Down Your Body’s Aging?

Ever wish you could slow down your body’s aging clock? A post-hoc secondary analysis of a large European clinical trial just showed that omega-3s might do exactly that.

Researchers followed nearly 800 healthy adults over 70 for three years, testing their “epigenetic clocks” biological markers in your DNA that show how fast you’re actually aging. Daily omega-3 supplementation, just one gram a day, slowed three of the most advanced aging clocks they tested: PhenoAge, GrimAge2, and DunedinPACE.

Translation? That’s a measurable deceleration of biological aging, about three to four months younger at the end of the 3-year study compared to those who didn’t take omega-3s. And it gets better: when omega-3s were combined with vitamin D and regular exercise, the anti-aging effect was even bigger.

This is on top of earlier results from the same trial showing omega-3s lowered urinary tract infection rates by 67% and falls by 10%. Not bad for a simple daily habit.

If you’re serious about longevity, this isn’t about hype, it’s about science reaffirming what other studies have shown. Omega-3s are pretty darn good for you.
